Malena Martinez Cabrera

 

Malena Martinez Cabrera is a Peruvian film director, producer, photo-grapher, and cultural journalist based in Vienna since 2000. She has a multiple cultural background and she speaks Spanish, German, English, and Italian. She lived in the Andes, in the jungle region and on the coast side of Peru, where she studied Hispanic Literature, Linguistics (Universidad Católica, Peru, 1999) and Music (Conservatorio Nacional, Lima).

In 2007 she obtained a Masters in Creative Documentary at the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona. She attended the 2014 -2015 class of the Friedl Kubelka School for Artistic Photography in Vienna. 2015 she was a Mentée of Mrs. Ruth Beckermann in the FC Gloria Mentoring program.

She is alumna of ARCHIDOC (La Fémis. Paris, Amsterdam, Lyon, 2015), Aristoteles Workshop (Arte TV, Sibiel, Romania, 2009) and Cinemato-graphy WS (ESCAC, Barcelona, 2009). She also holds a Mag. in Romanic Philology (University of Vienna, 2006).
