Xava Mikosch

Xava Mikosch is an interdisciplinary artist, born and raised in Austria and Sweden. They finished their diploma in Digital Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in 2021. Ever since they have been directing an experimental documentary with their performance collective >mal hans mal franz< while deepening their own performative practice through a variety of workshops, performances and classes in Vienna, Porto, Singapore and Stockholm. Coming from the Digital Arts, using digital technologies have always been fundamental tools to express the contents they aim to explore. In practice, they have been working with different media such as interactive devices, video, sound and performance. Within that, challenging, interacting and interfering with the public have been important artistic strategies to them in all of those approaches. In Summer 2023 they were part of the international DanceWEB program at the Impulstanz Festival Vienna and are currently working on their first solo project for steirischer herbst 2024.
